Shropshire Firm Puts the Local into Localised Cryotherapy

Localisedcryotherapy is a targeted form of cold therapy in which a controlled stream ofcold CO₂ is applied to a specific area of the body. Unlike whole-bodycryotherapy, the treatment is focused on one particular area, allowingpractitioners to incorporate cooling into an existing treatment orrehabilitation programme.

Thismakes the technology a natural fit for physiotherapy, sports treatment andequine care, where cold therapy is already widely used. It is important to notethat localised cryotherapy is not a replacement for conventional physiotherapy, rehabilitation or veterinary treatment. Instead, the equipment is anotherpractical tool that suitably qualified practitioners can add to their existingservices.

TruCryois now looking to develop relationships with local and regional practitionersas it expands the availability of the system. Every TruCryo system will besupported by online training, treatment guidance and access to ongoing onlinechat and telephone support.

“Thedevelopment name has always been the FRG – the Freeze Ray Gun – and ithas proved to be a surprisingly accurate description,” says Jason Peters,Development Lead at TruCryo. “But the equipment is only part of what we’reoffering. We’ve deliberately built a support package that provides training, treatment guidance and a 24-hour response to technical queries; we wantpractitioners to be able to introduce localised cryotherapy properly into theirexisting businesses.”

TruCryois now particularly interested in speaking to physiotherapists, sports injuryclinics, rehabilitation specialists, equine therapists and other relevantpractitioners who would like to introduce localised cryotherapy into theirbusinesses.

TruCryohas a range of payment options that make the equipment easier to introduce, andwith relatively low consumable costs, the company believes practices can addanother treatment option while creating the potential for an additional revenuestream.
